A new way to train healthcare professional in VR – MWC2019 with HTC Vive™

24 February 2019

During the MWC 2019 in Barcelona, SimforHealth presents a new digital simulator available on the new HTC Vive™ Focus Plus standalone headset!

Chosen by HTC VIVE ™ , leader in the VR headset market, SimforHealth will exhibit again at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (Hall 7, booth 7A40), to illustrate technological excellence in the health sector.

With a virtual reality simulator developed to train registered nurses, SimforHealth will demonstrate that the new HTC VIVE Focus standalone headset is enhancing training experience for healthcare professionals.

Providing a complete reconstitution of the environment in 3D, with a life-like virtual patient, the educational objective of this functionality is to highlight the importance of simulation for procedures and specifics health care situations.

Thanks to the virtual reality simulator presented, the learner takes on the role of a registered nurse who has come to a patient’s home to change a PICC line dressing. The simulation covers every step of this procedure by way of active and immersive teaching.
Without the risk of consequences due to a mistake the healthcare professionals can memorize the procedure through behavioral mimicry. This digital simulation, available on our MedicActiV training platform, allows you to acquire skills that will be applied in real life situations.

“With HTC’s Vive Focus providing a high-end processor and 3K AMOLED display, we are able to create realistic and immersive 3D environments for our medical or nursing simulators, providing better training outcomes for HCPs, without wires or connected computers, “ said Olivier Gardinetti, CTO, SimforHealth.

This digital simulator, developed with Orion santé a training organization leading the registered nurses’ trainings in France, is now available on our international platform MedicActiV.

“There is a real support from healthcare professionals for this new standalone headset.  Lighter and without any computer settings, this technology is no longer an obstacle as some healthcare professionals thought.  Many healthcare establishments, in France and abroad, have asked us to use these digital simulators in virtual reality. Our MedicActiV platform with its store of digital simulators makes the distribution of these simulators easier.” agrees Sophia Soulé, Chief of Staff, SimforHealth

Already being used by more than 50,000 healthcare professionals in the world, the MedicActiV platform offers a large library of simulators on line, available in virtual reality or on computer and tablet.
